Magyar Valentin öt évesen kezdett zongorázni szülővárosában, Balassagyarmaton. Tehetsége már az első években megmutatkozott, 14 évesen felvételt nyert a Liszt Ferenc Zeneművészeti Egyetem különleges tehetségek osztályába. Jelenleg a Zeneakadémia mesterképzős hallgatója, tanárai Farkas Gábor és Várjon Dénes, ezzel párhuzamosan a berlini Hanns Eisler Zeneakadémián Kirill Gersteinnél tanul.

2020-ban megnyerte a Yamaha Hangszeres Versenyét és a New York-i HCC Versenyt. 2021-ben harmadik díjat kapott a 10.Nemzetközi Liszt Ferenc Zongoraversenyen Weimarban (az első díjat nem adták ki). Ugyanebben az évben Junior Prima-díjjal tüntették ki. 2022-ben elnyerte a Fischer Annie ösztöndíjat és a Kocsis Zoltán-díjat (ez utóbbit mind a szóló, mind a kamarazene kategóriában). 2023-ban ő kapta a Zeneakadémia legtehetségesebb diákjának odaítélt Concorde-díjat, a Cziffra Fesztivál díját és aranyérmet nyert a Bécsi Nemzetközi Zenei Verseny hangszeres szólista kategóriájában. Nemrég elnyerte a berlini Clavarte Alapitvány ösztöndíját. 2025 óta az MMA Művészeti Ösztöndíj Program aktív résztvevője.

Fiatal kora ellenére Valentin rendszeres résztvevője magyarországi és külföldi koncertsorozatoknak és fesztiválokban. Első CD-je “Sentimental Moments” néven 2024 áprilisában jelent meg a Hungarotonnál. Kamarazenészként is aktív, olyan kiváló művészekkel lépett fel, mint Baráti Kristóf, Boris Berman, Jacques Rouvier, Christoph Poppen és Claudio Martinez-Mehner
